We started our niche business in 2001 solving cross border U.S. employee management problems facing Canadian based small, fast growth and emerging companies funded by private equity and venture capital firms primarily in the technology space who expanded quickly into the U.S. primarily in multiple states. The CFOs and Accountants were very frustrated with the mounting monthly paperwork required to comply with U.S. local, county, state and federal employment for Payroll, HR, WC and Health Benefits. It was distracting, time consuming and frustrating having to deal with multiple government agencies and multiple service vendors in each state to comply. They were concerns about how to contain rising U.S. health benefit premiums to attract and retain key hires and how to mitigate employer risk to protect their companies from liability from potential lawsuits from current and former employees and contractors in the U.S. who may sue the Canadian entity.
We resolved these problems quickly by assessing, facilitating and implementing the right solutions for them, mitigating employer risks and removing the monthly stacks of regulatory state and federal required paperwork and U.S. filings Senior Finance and HR Executives had to comply and deal with.
